About Us

Hi there, we are Reuben & Imogen!

We are two of ten secondary school students preparing for a 4-week expedition to the high Andes of Peru in July 2026 with Camps International.

This adventure goes beyond mere travel for us; it’s a crucial chance for us to gain important life skills. After managing a variety of challenges so far in this life, including autism, anxiety, and cancer, we are stepping outside our comfort zones and fostering personal growth, learning a lot about ourselves while exploring different cultures.

This eye-opening experience will enable us to assist local Andean communities and make a meaningful difference through our work!

So, what will we be doing on this expedition?

Staying in local
communities

We'll be staying at several different camps located in small Peruvian communities in the Andes.

We will be learning about traditional local life alongside carrying out community project work.

Undertaking Community Projects

We'll be:

contributing to projects aimed at enhancing educational facilities for local children
building greenhouses to support sustainable food production
constructing toilet blocks
renovating homes in communities

Treckking to Machu Pichu

We will be trekking at high altitude to the iconic Inca city of Machu Picchu over 3 days.

We'll take the Salkantay Trek route, journeying through the incredible Andean mountains and staying at camps along the way.

Exploring the Inca City of Cuzco

We will have time to acclimatise to the altitude and explore the city's history, artisan markets and handicraft stores.
